Sheldon Jackson feeds food to poor and stray dogs amid coronavirus lockdown


Saurashtra batsman Sheldon Jackson, who was part of his team’s Ranji triumph recently, shared videos of him distributing food to poor amid the coronavirus lockdown.

Sports personalities have come forward in numbers to help overcome the coronavirus crisis which has brought country to a standstill.

While, the established ones have donated massive amounts to PM-CARES Fund, the one still striving hard to make it big in their respective field have also done their bit and as former cricketer Pragyan Ojha said, it doesn’t really matter how is someone contributing.

Saurashtra batsman Sheldon Jackson shared two heartwarming videos on his Twitter handle where he can be seen helping the poor in need.

“Heal the world, feed the needy. Take pride in the good you do,” the 33-year-old batsman captioned one of his videos.

In the first video the right-hand batsman can be seen taking out food materials from his car and giving it to the poor, while in the second video the Ranji Champions animal lover side was visible as he fed biscuits to stray dogs .

“My community,” he captioned the second video.

Sheldon Jackson, who has played 76 first-class matches, was Saurashtra’a top run-scorer in 2019-20 Ranji season. Jackson scored 809 runs at an average of 50.56 and smashed 3 hundreds.

Earlier, Saurashtra Cricket Association has pledged to donate a sum of Rs 21 lakhs each to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and the Chief Minister of Gujarat’s Relief Fund to aid the battle against COVID-19 outbreak
